Glenn Brown has given a significant contribution to international contemporary art, in particular in the field of painting, with his works that synthesise classical and contemporary, ranging from the academic ambit to popular culture. Throughout his career Brown has drawn inspiration from very different sources, putting on the same level Fragonard and Dal?, the historical portrait and the fantastic images produced by science-fiction. The English artist operates on the initial image until he changes it profoundly, thus creating a completely new work which, however, evokes in the spectator something familiar and known.
